UNRESPONSIVE CHIEFS AND SHEIKHS.
(Reeled N^g^f ££•>„. The Echo de Paris states that the Young Turks and Germans made great efforts to induce the Arabs to declare a holy war against the British nearing Bagdad. High officials tried to bribe die chiefs with precious stones and money. The chiefs and sheikhs were not re?>onsive. They considered that the oung Turks and Germans were not qualified to preach a holy war to Islam.
