..Corporal H. D. Milieu, of the Auckland Mounted Rifles, who was some 'weeks ago reported # woundecl, writing from Gezireh ■ Hospital to his father, who resides at Pakuranga, says he considers himself very lucky, to'be able to state that he is ufhis old place of abode in Cairo. # "« were in action from Friday night till Sunday night," he says, "when I got smanke'd out. The lucky ones got wounded. We gave the gobblers something to remember- for .a long time. We are getting the best of. food. .It is just like being born aaain to see a good feed coming along. ! hope to be well in a couple of weeks, and*will go back to Zeilun camp among the horses for a *?peli to ;rot <m easy job for a while till T can get back to the firing line— if there is a firing line to go to, as the Turks aught- to be finished soon. "There used to be a regiment they calleci' the Auckland Mounted Rifles, but they will never be seen again in Auckland. I expect We will be attached to some- of the reinforcements.
