Webb and Hanna-n are belli in bard training for their match for £200 a-side and the sculling championship of New Zealand. Hannau is located u]> the Wanganui River, and is doing'his rowing on the championship course. The six months' training which he did on the Wairau improved him considerably, and he is now looking in great form. lie will bo several pounds heavier than Webb, who, however, has put on weight since ho last rowed, and ."-hould row at list. 7Lb. Hannan has a. couple of rows each day, and appears to revel in his work. There, is room lor improvement in his blade work, which is by no means <lo.ui : but there is no j mistake about the vigor and power j lie puts into his sculling. He covered i •i mile liie. o(.b: v day at thirty tt. the minute, keeping •'ha.: i ate up all the way, and he ii;;: ;-ow-.v! the full course at an average <;i' lAvtiny-x>vt<n, and finished very strongly. Some- who have seen him out have been -much impressed with his dash and strength. •,ind anticipate that he will put up a Wil i-ace. ' Web!) is rowing very well find looks in fi»ie condition to star! on | las! v.-irk. !!e appeal's to lie row ing | vs cleanly a.s ever. There seems good j .teason to hop'i« Lliat he wiil be able \ to put in one of his best ri.ee.-. on the- jj vve'.iU'u! day. \
