CHRISTCHURCH SITTINGS.

CHRISTOHITRCH, Aug. 27 At the Supreme Court to-day Judge Denniston gave judgment in the case. •of Thomas Graham, of Te Ruiti, against Hopkins, Diamond, and bcott, a Christchurch syndicate. The plaintiff sold land in To Kuiti for the defendants, .-and claimed £470 commission under the Auckland scale. The defendants contended that the com.mission would' "be £210, under the Christchurch scale. The agreement said that the commission was to be at the usual rate. The judge held that where the agent is told "usual commission" it must mean the scale in the district in •which the land is situated and! where the agent does his business. Judgment was given for the plaintiff for the full amount.
