ANOTHER MAORI ENTERTAINMENT.
Owing to the unprecedented success of the recent performance of the Maori entertainment, and by tho special request of several citizens who were unable to witness it, the committee have decided to give another entertainment -at'the Town Ha!!, on Wednesday next. There is to be a complete and novel change of programme, embracing the famous koa, kotno, and toa, hakas'^ and comic and historical items; and for this purpose performers from the North Island have been requisitioined to add to the local talent, notably T. Hapakuku, K. Tahuaroa, C. Keepa, and j. Piika. The. opiwrtunity thus afforded the public of witnessing these native | forms of amusement should not b.e I missed, as such, opportunities arc becoming more rare as the years go on. The 'native wealing appai-el noeesfsary for the genuine and reallsticperforinaorces of the dancing, etc.', is becoming more and more I difficult to collect together, and for I ibis reason such entertainments arc : v.nique in the experience of most. In : this instance the performers comprise members of the five tribes of Ngatiawa, Rongitairie, Ngatir<ii-a.-wy-, Ngaituhu, and Ngatimaniapoto, so a very representative ..and typically native performance should be looked ibr. As the proceeds are .to be devoted to patriotic purposes, the efforts of o\ir Maori -friends to help in the great cause should have the whole-hearted support of the public.
