JUDGE RICH'S RECOMMENDA-
TIONS,

. Mr -Pearce, "in a statement dealing with Mr Justice Rich's report on the Liverpool camp, says that it must be borne in mind that there, has been an extraordinary strain on^'ithe resource.-, of the Gbmmonwealth. ...to equip the great number of soldiers offering. As far ias headquarters^, were concerned orders to issue equipment were given iri ample* time to'meet >the requirements of winter, and sufficient stocks were in hand. The defects were duf to lack of 'initiative on the .part -cff the Now South Wales staff. Regarding the medical services many defects were serious. Practically all there-; commendations in Judge Rich's interim .report had already been carried out. His further recommendations, where they were not carried out were receiving attention.
