The journalists report that the whole district of the Argonne, particularly, on tihe route of the Crown Prince's retreat from the Marne, is a scene of utter desolation. Every village has been razed to the ground. The work of i deliberate incendiaries was facilitated Iby light motor-cars, equipped with petrol pumps and hose.
