(Received Sent. 14. 11.30 p.m.) OSTEND, Sept. 14. Strong bands of Uhlans are still prowling in the neighborhood. The Belgians dispersed several hundreds at Dixmunde, inflicting severe loss, and they captured a machine-gun. A column of Belgian- volunteers, supported by Civic Guards with ' machine-guns on automobiles, had a sharp engagement near Alost with a ISerman iorce. The latter's losses were serious. Seven waggons'were captured. The German retreat. southwards is marked by a trail of "horrible outrages. They entered the chapel of Lier Saint Mnrie, where fonr priests were celebrating mass. "They seized the priests and forced them to- march ahead! of tfiem. and -eventually: the four were killed.
