The S.s. Iluia, from Wellington, reached the Havelock wharf early this morning. Sho brought 35 tons of general stores, and is to leave again •for Wellington this afternoon, taking five tons of scheelite and 10,000 feet or sawn timber.

ENTERTAINMENT AT CARLUKE

A number of local people paid a visit to Carluke on Thursday night and gave an entertainment in the public hall, the proceeds of which were to be devoted to the payment of certain matters in connection with tho Mfthoclist Church. The hall was well filled, and tho audience was appreciative. The results financially wore satisfactory. The company were taken to Carluke and back in Messrs Price and Son's nlotor lorry, which the firm has had fitted up with everything necessary for comfort while on the roiid.
