( (From our Special Reporter.) TAPAWERA, April 30. Yesterday iieid -operations by all .•forces were successfully undertaken, the men being ■engaged ail day. In the afternoon much interest centred in practice by the Tenth Mount- , *ed'Regimental Band on horseback, an -experiment which: proved successful, and the band will receive daily inistruction in this respect from Sergt.Maior Salt. Evening •entertainments are a fea--feure of•'camp life. Last night an excellent ; open-air concert was held, ■Colonel' Chaffey and Major Hughes and the officers contributing to the programme. During an interval'the. Colonel addressed the nie-ii. He thanked them for the loyal support given to him and lie stated that- already there was a. notable improvement in their work. Toi-night the Nelson Savage Club •will, probably visitr the camp and give an open-air concert. 1 To-day was au amplification of yesterday's movements, the. infantry, 'mounted men, and battery collaborating in attack, outpost, and alarm Trark. The health and good spirits of the .men are generally excellent. A splendid programme has been a-r----i ranged for the regimental sports on ;Saturdav afternoon.
