HAVELOCK HARBOR BOARD
There were present at the monthly meeting of the above Board, held on Wednesday, 'Messrs H. M. Header (chairman), W. H. Orsman, W. H. Smith, and W. H. Buckman.
The Secretary reported that he "had been notified by the postmaster that money could not be accepted from the Board on deposit, and it was therefore resolved to withdraw the amount in the Post Office at present" in the names of the chairman and secretary, and to place that, together with another £150, at fixed deposit in. the bank for two years.
The Oiairinan said that he had heard complaints as to the wharf steps, which at low tide became covered,in dime and mud, and were exceedingly. dangerous* and that launch owners complained that in stepping off the steps on to their launches they carried this mud into the boats. He had spoken to Mr Williams, who had offered to clean the steps once a week at Is per week, and he had instructed him .to do bo. The chairman's action was endorsed.
The matter of mooring launches at the landing steps was held over. The Secretary was instructed .to have the transfer of the lease of the reserve effected on the document, in •teriha-.bf.' the Board's previous resolution; , ..:.-.'..'..
Accounts totalling £14 Is i9d were passed tor payment.
