A new Australasian shipping firm has entered the'field; Tlie title is the Commonwealth and Dominion Line,1 Ltd., and it was registered on January 23rd, with a eaoitalof £2,000,----000 in £i: shares (250,000 6 per cent. prefeJSllce and 1,250,000 ordinary). The company'ia-to-take over as going concerns certain steamships and all or part . or the businesses belonging to or carried on by the following companies and firms :^— The Tyser Line, Limited; Messrs Tyser and Co., of 9-11, Fenchurch Avenue ; f the Anglo-Australasian Steam Navigation Company, Limited; Messrs William Milburn and Co., of 130, Fenchurch Street; -the Indra Line, Limited ;■ Messrs T. B. Royden, 6f> 20,. Brown's Buildings, Exchange, Liverpool; the Star Line,. Limited;, and Messrs James P. Corry and Co., of 9-J.l-, Fenohureh, Avenue; with a view thereto to adopt eight agr^e-: ments which have been signed for the purpose of identification by W. Hi j Beaumont, and to1 carry oh the busi-, ness of shipowners, shipbuilders, conveyors of passengers,', mails, troops., munitions of war, treasure, and merchandise, eto. The Australasian shipping combine, above referred to will, i it was stated, be followed by a far more important amalgamation of interests, in which the P: and 0., Company, the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, and the New Zealand Shipping Company would be the principals obncerlied. •
