A largo catalogue was;' subn mittedj and with few exceptions bidding was spirited. A fair yarding of pigs was made, but vendors' reserves were on the high aide, and sales were hard to effect. However, clearances were made in most oases. Poultry was in good demand.:- but the supply 'was moderate. Fruit came forward in large quantities. Apples 4s, peaches '3s 6d per half-ca«o. Vegetables were short of supply, t-omatoes 4s. per half*ca.,sej the demand being veryJ; great. ''Marrows and cabbage were largely inquired for. Prices realised were as follows: Pigs, light porkers, £2 2s; slips, 27s 6d; weaners, 16s to 10s. Fowls: Laying hens, 4s 3d; mixed sorts, 3s 3d to 3s 6d; young cockerels, *3s 6d to 3s 9d; ducklings, 4s 3d; ducks, 4s 9d to ss, all. at per pair. Wh^at, 15s; potatoes, 7s; _ barley seconds, 9s; onions, 12s 6d; pig meal, r9s; 'broken peas, 10s 6d, all at per 1 sack. | The jewellery and; E.P. ware; sale uwas'a distinct success, good business "being done.
