,A Tauranga Press Association message reports the death of the Rev. Canon Goodyear,'aged 63 years. He; was superintendent of the Maori Mis-| sion at the Bay-of-Plenty, including llotiorua. ' H© was the last of the| Maori missioners sent out by the? Church Missionary Society. 'He arrived at Wairoa, Haw;ke's Bay,' in 1878, transferred to Makjetu in 1883, and to Tauranga in 1896. He leaves a widow, two sons, and seven: daughters. He had been mentally, ailing for some weeks.
