[Pbebs Association i LONDON,. Jan. 16 ; Before the Dominions Commission 'Mi1 Harris, chief clerk of the Colonial Office, testified to the success of the scheme whereby the scientific department of the Imperial Institute examined economic food plants and other prodiicts of the Dominions for the payment of a fee. Twelve months' trial yielded £200 in fees. The Institute decided to continue the scheme permanently. He regretted that Australians and New Zealanders had failed to use the scientific department more freely. Canada had utilised it to-investigate a new variety of wheat.
