"■Mr"''Bui-ton^ Minister for Railways, Kias issued/a notice; to the railwaymen still striking , insilructing those , desirous of re-employment to apply to their centres; adding tfhat such as were required would provisionally be engaged at the fpreyibusi grades and emoluments, pending Parliamentary action. Mr Hoy, general manager for railways, has telegraphed to the disaffected centres stating that it must be distinctly understood that re-em-ployed strikers or "i/heir wives will not be allowed to -use opprobrious terms or to intimidate the loyal worker®. ■The penalty will be the men's dismissal. The reason for this is that, ionly 10 per cent, of the whole staff lias been striking. . A Labor legislator named Cresswell lias been arrested;
