Sadd has boen appointed manager of the WeHington representative water polo team, which is to compete at the New Zealand swimming cnampionships in Blenheim next month. , The Han Mr Massey has greatly beriefitted by his rest (says an Auckland Press Association message). He left for Wellington last night. He will return to Auckland in a month's time to turn the first sod of the branch railway to Waiuku. It is the intention of Mr W. J. Moffatt, who stood, as an Independent Iflberal at the la.<i> election, again ta contest the Nelson city seat at the 1 forthcoming, election. Up to the present, \the Colonist states, the efforts of the local branch of theReform League to secure a suitable candidate have been unsuccessful.
