MARLBOROUGH RACING CLUB.
A meeting of the Committee.of the Marlborough Racing Club . was held era, Thursday, when ttere .were present: Messrs H. D. Vavasour (in the chair), H. L. Jackson, G. T. Seymour, J./Conolly, G. O. Waddy, F. N. Dillon, S. Tapp, E. A. Weld, 0. G. Teschemaker-Shute, -arid B. S. Glfm* ion. . ' . , ~ Mr J. B. Dick w;as elected a member of the Club. ' ' ' ,■;..'. The main business was the con.•sideration of the programme for W& spiino- meeting, to be held on the 19th. and 20th November. It was decided that the stakes should be increased by £160, and that fyeie should be four trotting races ins^ad of. two, and eight races each <&%, instead of seven. The programme will appea;r m/the course of a few days. ■ : The use of the Riverlands racecourse •was offered to-the Marlborough Trotting Club for their annual meeting upon certain terms, provided they held their races immediately t aft©r the Marlborongh Racing Club s spring meeting, with an additional charge, should "they race at any other .time -during the year. v : . . ~, The following officials were^appoint-ed-—Clerk of the scales, Mr P. br. Williams: totalisator proprietor, Mr H. D. James: clerk of course, Mr G. Windleburn; timekeeper Mr O. 1.. Nash; starter, Mr C. O'Connor; judicial committee, Messrs Vavasour, 'CkaftJly, Weld, Ward, and Seymour; odfflEe committee, Messrs Vayasour, T», and Seymour; stewards, the .6of»nttee and Messrs B. Ward, G. J. Griffiths, H. B. Bagge Dr Walker, Dr BenAett, J G. Wolfersten, Dr Adams, H. Y. Monro, and W. Pollard; judge Mr A. O. Mcßae; handicapper, Mr George Morse; trotting handicapper, Mj L. Griffiths.
