Vallance Cook, who is at present holding a series of evangelical sea-vices in Blenheim, was accorded a civic welcome on Saturday evening. After the Tenth Mounted Regimental Band had rendered a couple of selections from the deghorn rotunda, his Worship the Mayor (Mr EL S. Parker) extended to Mr Cook a hearty welcome to the town. He mentioned that Mr Cook had been a member of the Hackney Borough Council, and had served on.a number of important committees engaged in social reform in the Old Country. , The Her. Mir Cook acknowledged the Mayor's greetings, and the gathering, which was attended by a large number of people, concluded with, cheers.
