CALL OF THE SEA

KING'S INTEREST IN AUSTRALI A.

I' SIR GEORGE PATEY'S HONOR.

[Peess Association.] LONDON, July 2. Sir George Reid, in a speech aboard H.M.S. Australia, paid a tribute to the King's warm interest in the Australian navy. He thanked the Admiralty for its co-operation in making the navy a success. Australians were building a navy, not because they were colonials, but because they were Britishers. In responding to the call of the sea their object was self-de-fence and preservation, and not destruction. . . ■ Sir George Patey declared that the King, in honoring him, had honored the Australian navy.
