SOLDIER ON LEAVE.
FALLS IN LOVE WITH ACTRESS
As with the lovers in "As You Like It," so has it been with a, young actress and a lieutenant- in the Indian Army who were fellow passengers on board the mail steamer Orvieto, which arrived at Melbourne last week.
The Orlando in this shipboard romance was Lieutenant Cross, of the Tenth Hussars, quartered in India, and the Rosalind was a young woman who was coming to Australia with an introduction to J. O. Williamson, Ltd. She came from England, but it was only at Colombo that Lieutenant Cross joined the steamer, with nothing more serious in Ms mind than enjoying a well-earned holiday in Australia. But fhe woman appeared. It was a case of love at first sight. When the steamer reached Adelaide the couple went ashore and were married by special license. Husband and wife will return to India on the conclusion of Lieutenant Cross's holiday in Australia.
