TIMARU,.June 13. Vivian. Coira, aged 21 yeans, a postal employee at Temuka, while riding a motor-cycle with a side-car, on which was a man named E. Morgan, collided with the north-

going express at a crossing m Temuka. Both were ~ thrown «i considerable distance. Horgan scrambled out of the way with a bruised knee, but Coira was less fortunate. He had one leg cut off, and the other leg and his; arms broken. He died shortly after admittance to the hospital.
