MEMORIAL TO CAPTAIN OATES.
(Received May 1, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, April 30. Mr Asquithj in a letter to the Lord Mayor announcing the proposed annuities, said that these fulfilled the Government's undertaking, while allowing of equitable augmentation from the Mansion House fund.
- The newspapers state that Captain Oates's relatives are not mentioned. Oates "was a bachelor with an ample fortune, but '< a portions of the subscriptions will be-applied to a suitable memorial. ■
