(Christchurch Press, Wednesday.) There is no business in wheat to record A few sales of new season's barley have been made, and up to 4s at country stations has been paid. Uats are becoming a little more plentiful, and there is a good demand for prime samples, especially of Gartons, sales of Duns and Algerians not being so easy to effect. For Gartons, Is lOd to Is lid, and up to 2s for extra prime samples, is offered, while i>nns and Algerians do not command more than Is 9d to Is lOd at country stations. J Ryegrass is offering fairly freely,

and the quality varies considerably. Heavy samples are saleable up to 2s, and 2s 3d has been paid for extra lines. Light seed is in little request. A few fairly large lines of cocksfoot grown on the plains have been sold, and prices range from 3Jd to 4d, The under-mentioned are the prices paid to farmers at countrj stations, free of commission, except where otherwise stated:— Wheat (nominal). —Prime Hunter's 3s 6d, Tuscan 3s 5Jd to 3s 6d, Pearl 3s 7d to 3s Bd, fowl wheat 3s 3d to 3s 4d, at country stations. New Barley—Prime malting 3s 9d to 4s, at country stations. New Oats.—Gartens Is lOd to 2s, Duns and Algerians Is 9d to Is lOd, at country stations. Ryegrass—ls 6d to 2s, at country stations. Cocksfoot—3^d to 4d, at country stations. Flour—-£8 10s per ton, 1001b. bag& £8 15s, 601b. bags £9, 251b. bags £9 ss.^ Brani-£4 l lss (local), £4 10s, f.o.b per ton. Pollard--£6 per ton. Oatmeal—£l4 per ton. Oatsheaf Chaff (nominal)—£2 10s to £2 15s, at country stations. Onions—Autumn-sown £5, at country stations. EGG MARKET. At the auction sale of guaranteed Gggs» prices realised were: First grade hen eggs, Is Id to Is l£d, second grade Is Oijd to Is Id; duck eggs, Is Id.
