SPORTS AT PICTON
There was a fair attendance of the public at the Picton swimming bathe on Thursday afternoon to witness the sports arranged by the Picton Swimming and Life-saving Club. The results were as follows:—
Youths' Handicap, 30 yards: Hall Fredericks (scr.) 1, A. Barr (356 c.) 2. Five starters. Time, lmin. 20secs. Handicap, 60 yards: R. Wilton (4 sees.) 1, E. Wastney (scr.) 2. Eight entries. Time, 52|secs. Breast-stroke Handicap, 60 yards 3 Neal (scr.) 1, Law (2secs.) 2. Time, lmin. Bsec.
Handicap, 220 yards, for Presidents trophy: 'Wilton (scr.) 1, E. Wastnej (scr.) 2. Four starters. Time, 3nmu 55secs. •
Maiden Race, 30 yards: Winetanksw 1, Law 2. Five entries. Time, 1 mm. 7secs.
Handicap, 100 yards: Wilton (bct.Jj 1, Wastney (5 sees.) 2. Three entries.' Time, lmin. 29sees. The finish of this race was very close.
Neatest Dive: Heffer 1, Wilton andf Cragg (equal) 2. 'Seven entries. The swimming "in all events was very good, Wilton especially being in fine form. He has undoubtedly"the makings of a fast swimmer. Mr H* Raven acted as timekeeper, Mr W. Cook as handicapper, and Mr G. C* Edwards as judge.
