' find conditions are quieter than they have boen tor a long tune, which is saying a good deal. The offerings or wheat are- practically nil, and the same remark applies to'oats, although the inquiry here, is -certainly a good deal keener. It- is said that a small lot of potatoes havo been sold for shipment to the North Island at £10 a ton, but this price can hardly bo accepted as the ruling market rate,
which is as quoted below. Oatsheaf J chaff has declined a little, and now stands at 50s per ton. The undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers at country stations, free of commission, except whore otherwise stated: — Wheat (nominal) —3s 5d to Ss 66*; Pearl, 3s 6d; fowl wheat, 3s to 3s 6d at country stations. Barley.—Nominal. Prime malting 4s 4d to 4a 6d, extra prime to 4s 9d, at country stations. Oats (nominal) —Gartons 2s to 2s Id, 'Duns Is lid to 2s, Danish (nominal) la lid, at country stations. Cocksfoot—Peninsula seed, 3d to 4*d. Flour—£B 10s per ton, 1001b. bags £8 15s, 501b. bags £9, 251b. bags £9 ss. , ■ Bran—£4 15s (local), £4 10s, f.0.b., per ton. • Pollard—£6 per ton. Oatmeal—£l4 per ton. Oatsheaf Chaff (nominal)--£2 10s, at country stations. .Potatoes —Uii-tb-Dates and Derweiits £8 10s to £9, at country sta-. tions. ■:■'." Locally the only change to record is the drop in, butter, but all other quoted products remain stationary, except eggs, which have risen Id. Local prices are recorded as under: .
