HOSTILITIES RESUMED.

CHATALDJA STRONGLY HELD

ATTACK ON DARDANELLES

IMMINENT

•(Received Nov. 22, 9.30 p.m:) CONSTANTINOPLE, Nov. 22. The Bulgarians, after abandoning the Turkish advanced works, burnt the railway station at Ohataldja and all the surrounding villages, and are now strongly entrenched on the high ground opposite the Turkish right. The Bulgarians' retirement had :a magical effect., cm the Turks, who passed from gloom to excessive optimism.

• The retirement possibly influenced the Porte in refusing the Bulgarian terms.

The Turkish position is being daily strengthened by the arrival of fresh troops and the throwing up of .fresh entrenchments. The more plentiful supply of food is improving the morale.

The Turkish lines at Chataldja extend . for 25 miles. The extremities can he held by a skeleton force, with the assistance of such natural barriers as Lakes Bojuk Tchekemedje and Derkos.

Twelve Greek warships have arrived at Mitylene. It is believed that a, rear attack on the1, Dardanelles forts, supported by the Greek fleet trying to fore© the straits, is imminent. The cannonade at Chataldja was resumed late on Wednesday night, and was audible in the city. The Hamidieh reports that she was' slightly damaged by torpedoes, biit that she sank two Bulgarian torpedoers.

The title -of Ghazi, meaning tiotorious1, has been. conferred on General Chu'kri, commander at Adrianople, in recognition of his splendid defence.
