LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
The Council met at 11 a.m. ! NATIVE LAND BILL. The Native Land Amendment Bill was further considered in Committee. Sub-section 3, of (clause 7, was amended, on the motion of the Minister, to read as follows:—"The provisions of section 209 of the prin- ; cipal Act, with respect to the prece- : dent consent of the Native Land Board to alienations of Native Land, i and with respect to alienations made ) in pursuance of such consent, shall i be deemed to extend and apply and j at all times to have extended and < applied to alienations of undivided interest in Native land, and to alienations of part only of any area of Native land owned by same owner, and shall be deemed at all times to have authorised the granting of two or more concurrent consents in respect of the different alienationsoosf s the same land, and the granting of any such consent on the application of any one or more of the owners who are parties to the proposed, alienation, without the concurrence of the other owners," The Bill was reported with amendments, and put through, its final ' ' '■■.
