ARRIVAL OF MORE POLICE
WAIHI, Oct. 1. Strike affairs are quiet-here to-day. The new union office is being picketed by strikers. A epnspicuous feature is ■tide'flying'of the' Union Jack over the building. _ . Mr Cullen, Commissioner of Folice, arrived here to-day. Twenty more police arrived last night, and a few more a"ro expected'to-night. A mass/ meeting of strikers is being held this afternoon. It is reported tifoat a ballot will be taken on _tbe question of resuming -work, but this is not authenticated. .
