STARVING PEASANTS.
Serious outbreaks have oocurrei among the peasants in the northern part of G-alicia. Driven to desperation by their destitute condition, 800 starving men forcibly occupied the estate belonging to a rich land owner, and took possession of all the dwellings. A large body Qf police that was summoned had <a sanguinary encounter withi the invaders, many of whom were injured.
