Excepting stamps for prepayment and an address-label, nothing whatever may be joined or attached to» post-card for a place beyond th« d>lony. For delivery within the Colosy receipt-stamps or slips of paper »r.ay be affixed to post-cards.-Reply Cards.—The reply half of » post-card received from any place outside of the colony can be sent without extra charge only to the country in tfhich it originated ; and must have been received attached to the corresponding half. Each of the two halves must fulfil the conditions laid down for single post-cards ; one half is doubled over the other 5 and th«y must not be closed up in any manner; whatsoever

Private Cards.—Private cards, including pictorial cards, bearing adhesive stamps may also, be used aa post- cards. They must be composed of ordinary cardboard not thicker than that used for post-cards of tha post-card patterfr. The size must not' be more than s&in. by, 3Jin., and not less than 4£in. by 2|in. For inland transmission the cards may *be entirely plain ; but for transmission to places Tbeybnd the colony reply cards must bear the words, " Post-card with Reply Paid," and " Post-card Repljr." To other than English-speaking countries these words must appear in Trench, " Carte Postale avec Reponse Payee," "Carte Postale—Reponse." They^ are otherwise treated like officially-issued post-cards. Private cards will be received from \hm public, and impressed with the penny postage,-stamp. The rates for* such impressing are—£d envelopes (3jia. s s|in-), 7sd doz. ; Id envelopes, unguiamed (3fin. x 6in.), Is fdr 11 ;Id envelopes, ungummed (4£in. s sJin.), Is for 11. GENERAL REGULATIONS. Letters—Letters not fully prepaid or posted wholly unpaid are qharged double the deficiency at the prepaid rate on delivery. No letter may exceed 2ft. in length or lft. in width or depth. Letters containing valuables must be registered. Late-fee Letters, etc., must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage, Id.
