SIX REPORTED DEAD.
THEORY OF THE ■.DISASTER,

SYDNEY, Jan. 15.
Six are now reported dead in the iWfest Wyalong disaster: Their nam^s «W'e Godfrey Maguire, Robert Navln, John Navin, Rupert Nicholson,, John Mnlhvdl, and William Cunningham. The disaster was quite unexpected, fes .the mine was not suspected; of containing foul air. It is supposed that ■an explosion of rackarock released a ■pocket,.of foul gases. The inrush must have been sudden, as most'of the .bodies .were found a few feet from .where _tb«ay were working.
.Cunningham, with Ahe Wellington, ■managed to crawl out of"'the foul ssa.ne., <?,nd .were rescued with difficulty. vGunningham „ fUrw&rds suocumbej! W.<,ljiaigton is in the .hospital in a seraous conaition. The funeral of tJio vaectjjns was the largest seen in the district.. All except Cunningham left wiy&i .and .y-o-ung fitmilie® dependent on ih&m.
