At the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's Egg-laying Competition in Christchurch during October Mr T. Irving's White Leghorns laid 167 eggs, an Australasian record, and took the first prize for the month, and Mrs Knowles White Leghorns took second prize, laying 165 eggs, which also teats the previous Australasian vecord.
