THE WEATHER.

The weather was cold 'all over tha Dominion this morning, Auckland, with a reading of 55, being warmest, and Bealey (37) was coldest. The local reading was 49. Riain was falling at . Dunedin, and rain and snow at > Bealey, while the outlook at many stations was very dark. At East Cape, Cape Palllser, Cape Campbell. Farewell Spit, Timaru, Oama-ru, and the Wairau Bar the sea was very rough. Fresh southerly breezes wore still blowing over the major portion of both islands. THE COACH SERVICES. Owing to the mail service between Nelson and Blenheim having been disorganised through the recent heavy rains, the Havelock coach will not resume its running until tomorrow. Mr George Newman left Blenheim this morning with a two-horse express for the Rai Falls, carrying the mails for Nelson. THE WAIRAU RIVER. The Wairau River lias gone down a good deal, but there is still a large quantity of water in it.

The heavy gale still continues in Wellington. It is very cold, but there is no rain. In fact, the streets are being watered to-day. The water is washing over the new railway track to The Hutt, and only one line can be used. A number of steamers are overdue, including the Indralema and the Tarawera, from Napier, but they are supposed to be sheltering somewhere. Those arriving report very bad trips.
