AT THE TOWN HALL
There was a good attendance of taxing enthusiasts at he Town Hall -on .Saturday night to witness the two boxing exhibitions arranged by the Marlborou^h. Boxing Association in with the British. Picture Cwmpany; The earjy part of i>h©; ■evening was devoted $o pictures, and at about 8.30 the curtain was raised, when "Sailor" Dunn (10st.), champion lightweight of Johannesburg, and Harry Sainsbury (9st llijlbs), a l local lightweight, entered the ring. I This was a scheduled six two-minute, f Tound bout. In the early stages it appeared as if the local man.-would ■win easily. ' Dunn's swinging blows were easily stopped, and some beautiful straight lefts came in contact with the mariner's- '-'-point." -The. round ended with a good margin of points in favor of Sainsbury. .The second was practically a repetition <o? iJh© first, save that Sainsbury rattled his man a bit more this time. Dunn came in at the third round and mixed things very much, several of Ms swings connecting with Sainsbnry'a body. The local man, however, took them, and with a telling Tipper-cut had his man "groggy"; }mt he failed to take advantage of tie opening, and, the gong went. *The sailor came in like a cyclone in the fourth, and with left and right swings to head and body soon had jus man thinking. A wild left to the head dropped Sainsbury. He! tried nard to get up, but the inevitable "out" sounded, and "Sailor" Dunn was declared the winner amid much, applause. Dunn is essentially a fighter, but he lacks the science of Ms defeated opponent.
