LAWN TENNIS.

AWARUA CLUB.

The annual meeting of the A warn a Lawn Tennis Club was'held at Marlboroughtown on Friday evening, when there was a good attendance of members. Mr A. Robertson occupied the chair, and congratulated the club on the very satisfactory state of the finances. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £5 odd, and no liabilities.

The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Patron, Mr J. H. Redwood; president, Mr D. Chaytor; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Robertson, J. Gane, A. E. WSkins, H. Cheesman, E. H. Eccles, and Rev. W. Wollstein; auditor, Mr A. Robert son; secretary, Mr, G. M. Valentine (all re-elected); selector, Mr W. Gane; committee, Misses Ladley, Cresswell, and Cheesman, Messrs Gane, Dodsors, G. Sheridan, and H. Robertson. It was decided1 not to join the Lawn Tennis Association this year. Pour new members were elected.

During the winter the club's; courts have been top-dressed and kept rolled and mown, and are consequently in splendid order.
