SOME CAKE RECIPES
Rich Cheap O&ke.—Beat well the yolks of three eggs and the whites of two, with ones cup of fine sugar; beat in one half-cup condensed' milk, ->ne v,v,d. two-thirds cups sifted flour, two heaping teaspoonfulsi baking powdor, on&-half teaspoon lemon, on© teaspoon of vanilla extract. Butter generously two large cake tins. Put together with frosting made with ono white of egg and two-thirds, cup of sugar beaten together. Afternoon Tea Cakes.—One cup sugar, one cup of raisins, onc«half onp butter, one -teaspoonfiil cinnamon, one-half toaspoonful cloves. Stir this jail together and put on stove and let come to the boil. Cool, then add two cups of flour with one teaspoonful of soda. Put in gem pans; «nd bako in a, quick oven. A tori that you will appreciate is the "Miksdo" Blend, a tea that costs but eighteenpence a pound, sind tastes like that worth 2s. It is a good strong flavory tea with plenty of body, and extremely pleasing to tho palate. For family use it is unequalled, for it is inexpensive and good. Ft is worth a trial, and 'ho trial will cost you Is 6d. for that is the price of a pound of "Mikado" tea. Ask your grocer.
