WOOL SKIN HIDES AND TALLOW SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report as follows under date August 11 :— We held our fortnightly sale to-day, when we offered 30 hales of wool, 1300 sheepskins, 200 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair.

Wool: Market steady. We quote: Good crutchings s|d to 6£d, medium crutchings 5d to s£d, seedy and inferior crutchings 3Jd to 4fd, medium crossbred.7d to Hid, inferior crossbred 6£<l to 7d pieces and Bellies 5d to s£d, locks 3Jd to 4id: Skins: No change. We quote: Halfbreds and fine crossbreds 6|d to 7£d, medium and coarse crossbreds 6d to 6|d, dead skins 5d to 5f d, J to h wools Aid to s|d, dead hoggets 4d to s£d,-dry pelts 10c! to Is 3d, green skins 3s 7d to 7s. , . Tallow: Easier. Parcels in shipping order £26. Tins £22 to £23. Rough fat £16 to £19 10s. Horsehair: Is to Is 6d per Ib. Horns: 5s to 13s 6dper hundred.

Tails: Is 8d per dozen. Hides: Eagerly sought after and strong competition. Heavy . and mediums sold at fd advance. We quote: Ox hides (heavy) 6^d to Bd, ox hides (medium) 6£d to 7|d, ox hides (light) 6d to 60, cow hides 6d to 6§d, cut and slippy Hides 2£d to 6Jd, stag hides 4dto 5Jd, bull hides to |4d, yearlings 5Jd to 7d,. calf (best) 8d; to.
