LORD DENMAN.
Lord Denman, Governor-General Designate of Australia, arrived by the R.M.S. Omah, accompanied1 by Lady Denman and suite. Lord Denman is in his 38th year, yet he would pass comfortably as a much younger ijian. He has a pleasant voice and a rather reserved, retiring manner; is slightly nervous at first in conversation, but gradually thaws into a state almost approaching geniality, and is invariably scrupulously courteous. "Thank you, very much," reniarked he, after an interview, as if the pressmen had actually conferred a favor on him by their importunities. "Now, what, would you have Hie say?" asked he as he became sciiteu.
"Might we suggest that you are glad to arrive?" •'Well, yes, you might say that I think (this with a great deal of cau-

Me is tremendously popular H© has been working 'liiird in connection with the Coronation." "Wiiat is your impression of the immigrants to Australia you h>ave
seen'!"" ' .' '•From what I have seen of them aboard this boat, they seem to be a -good type of people. There was a . sports gymkhana for chidren on boo id yesterday, at wliioh Lady Denman and myself were present. Lady Denman presented a number of prizes." . ' . ' f v . ""Will you take an active interest in sport, such as racing and hunting. J have not brought any of my horses with me.
