FROZEN MEAT MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., London, report under date April 6th as follows :—
Market in general: Owing to cold, unseasonable weather, business during th© past week -has been on an extremely limited scale. Beef remains unchanged, but we have again to record a decline in*-mutton and lamb, and any change, is likely to be in the favor of buyers, as arrivals continue in excess of the demand, and shipments afloat are very heavy. Frozen Lamb: Prices are &d to id lower all round, but North Island and Australian carcases are the most difficult to dispose of. „ r Frozen Mutton: The demand, for mutton is bad, heavy carcases being particularly difficult to sell. Quoiwitions for mutton are also &d to |d easier.
Frozen Beef: Frozen quarters, being somewhat scarce, are firm in price, while chilled remain unchanged at last week's quotations.
