TWO NEW ZEALANDERS.
Two fortuante heirs to nearly half a million each—Mr John Harrington, of Denniston, and Mr Barclay Harrington, of Hawero--are at present in Wellington (states The -Dominion). They have just forwarded1 to New York the documents necessary to enable their solicitors to seal their claims to.the fortune stated. S The Messrs ■ who are both hotelkeepers, are we&known in Wellington, particularly Mr Barclay Harrington, who w,as ? for a number of yearl, connected with the management of the Central Hotel. , „ The legacy has been left the Harrington family by the late Patrick McSuire, of New York, a brother of Sf!legatees' mother, JJ r f M«G<"r« ' When a youth, emigrated from Galway, Ireland, to New York, and, through the influence of wealthy relations, obtained eifitjloyment m< one or the important railways 50 years ago: Being a shrewd young man, «h© saw the possibilities of speculations m railway stocks. Speculate he did, and success crowned his efforts to such an, extent that, at^te time of his death, a, year ago, it is stated he left seven million dollars, all invested in valuable railway'stocks. The whole of i this estate it is understood goes te the Harrington family, which consists , of Mr John Harrington, of Denniston, Mr Barclay of' Hawera, and Mrs Gow, late of Barrett's Hotel, Wellington, and now of, Sydney, who will'ieach receive nearly < h£lf a million. The legatee's solicitors, Messrs Hubble Co., Broadway, New York, discovered the whereabouts of. the Harrington family through" the' 'agency of the Union Bank of A^strftlia. •
