[fbess association.] DUNEDIN, March 22. A somewhat unusual application, oame before Mr Justice Williams, due to a curious mistake m the will or Bridget Elizabeth McCredy, a widow. The will contained a clause bequeathing all her household1 effects and Soods pleasing to women to her grandaughter, named Mary Brown, of Mataura. The evidence showed that there are three grand-daughters named Brown, at Mataura, but not one Mary Brown, andl not one was known as "Mary." It was stated also 'that the next-of-kin, Richard Howard, was wandering labout in Australia. An order was mad© that the legacy lapsed to Mary Brown through uncertainty, and that inquiries be made for the next-of-kin.
