[PBESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received March 17, 9.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 17. Thomas Walsh, an ex-sergeant of -'the 87th Regiment, died at Newcastle, aged 97 years. He served under General Pollock, avenging the massacreN of Pollock's Division _at Khyber Pass, was through .the Sikh and Crimean Wars and the Indian Mutiny, and in the 70th Regiment which took part'in the Maori War.
