HAVELOCK HARBOR BOARD.

Our correspondent writes that the monthly meeting of the Havelbck Harbor Board Was held on Wednesday last, the members present being: _, Messrs H. >, M. deader (chairman),, R. F. Crispin; T. D. Taylor, W. H. [ Smith, and W. H. Buckinan. The secretary submitted an approximate balance-sheet, showing a balance of £40 Is Id at credit of the. Board after provision had been made for all outstanding liabilities. The agents of s.s. Wairau wrote for a statement of account for charges against that vessel. In reply to a telegram forwarded asking for information as to date for election of the new Board, the secretary was notified that the election -would taks place during the last-week in April. The secretary was instructed to write to the bank manager informing! him that the account would be drawn on in the same manner as had beei. customary. Asi, account submitted by the secretary showed that the sum of £1519 had', been expended by the Board since its formation, in connection with harbor improvements, less about £46 to be- repaid by Messrs Brownlee and Co. for work done dredging a channel to the mill. It was decided that Mr A. J. Brown take over the duties of secretary as from Ist April, and that the Town Board be written to for use of the (public library for the Board's monthly meetings on the same terms as granted to the Foresters' Lodge. [ Mr Reader moved that the amount lent by Messrs Brownlee and Co. with accrued interest be repaid, and that '[ Mr Brownlee be thanked- for his timely assistance; also that, a vote of thanks be accorded to Mr Mattnews for the very satisfactory manner in which he had fulfilled his duties*,as secretary to the Board.— Carried. It was also decided that the amount due to Mr Matthews for advances made at various times be repaid in full, together with accrued interest thereon. The town members were; authorised to sign the necessary cheques. j
