In the ,Ciapham Common murder case Steiner Morrison was cross-ex-amined for a whole day, and he made some damagi»g admissions. He admitted using the name of Alexander Pelroparloff in a petition to the Home Secretary praying that he be repatriated to Russia. His name, nevertheless, was really Morrison. He was'boi-n in Sydney in 1882. He admitted a number of convictions, since 1898 for Jtheft and burglary. "That," he said, in a dramatic outburst, "is the reason why the poEee have a down' on me. " The defence is now -closed.
