PARISIANA CASTAWAYS.

DAY'S RAIL JOURNEY WITHOUT

FOOD

ST. PAUL ISLAND STORES

[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received Jan. 26, 10.45 a.m.) j PERTH' Jan. 26. It is alleged that through the neglect of a civil servant the Parisiana's crew had to travel for twentyfour hours by train from Albany to Perth without food. They had no money, and the Government directed that they should be fed. T,he officer, however, neglected to telegraph the necessary instructions.

The Premier has decided to draw the attention of the French authorities to the fact that the provisions on St. Paul Island, where the crew landed, have not been renewed for 18 years. The biscuits there are mouldy, and are unfit to eat.
