Submarine's record for two miles is 4.45, and he has won nearly £400 in stakes in Canterbury during the 1909 season, was from Miss Modesty, by Lucifer—Flying Beauty, by Perfection, the erstwhile King of Trotters. Fitz-James (imported from- California by the late Mr John Kerr) sired those sterling trotters Rarus and Clyde, and was by the great General MoClennan —Idalia, by Owen.
