BLENHEIM RIFLES v. WAITOHI
RIFLES
The first matqh for the shield, be-r tween the Blenheim Rifles and the Waitohi RifleSj took place last Saturday afternoon on the Picton,. range. The weather was not favorable' to good shooting, there being a changeable wind at the 200 yds range, and it rained with squalls all through the 500 yds range, which made it very difficult for the shootists. Pvt. W. Jackson put up a good score at 200 yds, making the possible (35); and Pvt. W. Logan made 33 at 500 yds for the B.R.V. Sergt. Simmonds (34 at 200 yds) and Mr Raven (32 at 500 yds) were top for Waitohi Rifles. The conditions were 7~- shots and one sighter at 200 and 500 yds. The following are the scores: —
JUNIOR CCP.
The five junior teams fired their first round at-Vernon on Saturday, the Blenheim Rifles A team coming out on top. Trqoper Tripe was top" for the day with 64, making one off the possible at 500 yds. , The conditions were 7 shots and an optional sighter at ?00 and 500 yds. A cold wind blew down the range, and caused the younger- shots a good deal of won-y at 500 yds.
