GROWING FASTER THAN BRITAIN'S. [PBESS ASSOCIATION.] LONDON, June 16. • Sir Hugh Bell, M.P., speaking at a meeting of the Freetrade Union, said that the production of iron and steel by companies of the United States had grown at a greater rate than in Great Britain, solely because they had immense stores of iron ores, whilst ours were practically exhausted. Sir Hugh Bell quoted statistics to show that the iron trade had not suffered by the absence of protection.
