AWAPUNI STICKING-UP CASE.
AN ALLEGED ACCOMPLICE
PALMERSTON N., June 2. Pawelka' appeared before the "Supreme Court this* morning on a charge of robbery under arms at Awapuni, where he is alleged to have obtained the sum of Is under threats of violence from Jno. Kendall. The latter, in his evidence, stated that he recognised Pawelka as the assailant of himself and his wife when they were stuck up. \ After the arrest of Pawelka at Ashhurst he was reported to nave accused a man named Arch. Mcßae of being his accomplice in furniturestealing. The police searched the district for a man answering the description given, and found one in lower Hawke's Bay and brought him to Palmerston North on subpoena; but yesterday Pawelka foiled to recognise .him. - i..'v, ;
